I, Catherine Marie Jamet, am the daughter of Jean-Paul and Michèle Jamet and was
born on the wind swept coast of Normandy in 1976. At age 14, I moved to Washington DC and have
subsequently pursued a career in invertebrate paleontology.
I, Peter Marion Powers, am the son of Peter and Kathryn Powers and was born in the steamy
swamps of Washington DC in 1971. I am currently pursuing a career in earthquake geology.
We met as graduate students at the University of Southern California in the fall of 2003 and
were engaged the following Christmas. We are keeping our official ceremony small in
favor of having multiple small celebrations with friends and extended family over the next
year. In this way, not only we will be able to spend more time with each of you, but will
also be able to celebrate over... and over... and over... Details of individual celebrations will be
supplied in the coming weeks.
