This is a collaborative project involving John Platt and  Thorsten Becker, with the aim of investigating the tectonics of the San Andreas Transform system, primarily through the use of the geodetically-defined velocity field in California.  It has three main themes.
 
This work was funded by the Southern California Earthquake Center, USGS, and NSF, and has been published in Earth and Planetary Science Letters.
 
This work was funded by the USGS Earthquake Hazards Program, and has been published in G-cubed.
