Welcome to Geosys

the Linux Network of USC Earth Sciences

Geosys is the main system provides support to most of our in-house Linux computing. It supports many Linux based clients, hosts critical applications, and provides a major source of data storage and backup. Some key components of Geosys includes:

  • 12 node cluster (dynamic)
    • Dual Intel Xeon processors with Hyperthreading
    • Can be clustered or used individually
  • Two large memory server
    • 32 GB shared memory
  • Raid storage
    • 4.6 TB of usable storage
