Stromatolites
The world of stromatolitology is fascinating from multiple perspectives. We are addressing
several basic questions: how are they formed, at what rate, how does the ambient environmental
chemistry get recorded by these structures, what role biology vs. abiotic, if biology is involved, is
the involvement direct or indirect, and if indirect, what are the chemical reactions that enhance
